Mineral Resources International, Inc.’s
Environmental Responsibility
Stewardship…..
”The responsibility to nurture Earth’s natural resources ensuring that they are sustainably managed for current and future generations.”
The Anderson family and MRI, Inc. strongly feels it has been endowed with an extraordinary stewardship in utilizing the essential life-giving minerals of the Great Salt Lake to enrich people’s health and well being.
However, we also understand that this stewardship comes with a great responsibility in protecting the delicate habitat of the Great Salt Lake. We are dedicated to following environmentally responsible practices in every aspect of our mineral harvesting and manufacturing process. We follow these practices not only to ensure they are sustainably managed for the Great Salt Lake, the state of Utah, the environment, and each and every individual on this planet—but for future generations to come.

The Anderson family’s mineral harvesting operation is located within a naturally remote and pristine setting of the Great Salt Lake. Using Google Earth online (coordinates 41° 12’19”N x 112° 01’38”W), you can locate the precise location of the family harvesting operation on the isolated Northwest arm of the Great Salt Lake. Our ponds are surrounded by mountains and is accessible only by dirt road. Within this seemingly inhospitable rugged landscape, antelope run wild and it’s not uncommon to spot jackrabbits, hawks or perhaps a coyote, rattlesnake, or wild scorpion.
The Anderson family’s mineral harvesting operation underwent a very strict approval process with the state of Utah that involved nearly thirteen state and federal agencies before receiving final approval. In addition, we conducted an environmental impact study to ensure that the harvesting operation wouldn’t harm the ecology of the lake or its native habitat. The family and employees have taken great care to construct the ponds and lake residence to minimize the operation’s footprint on the precious habitat of the Great Salt Lake. We do not allow the use of any herbicides, pesticides, or chemicals on or anywhere near the ponds.
It is a nearly two-year endeavor using only natural sunshine and the natural dynamics of Utah’s four seasons to concentrate the minerals until they reach peak maturity and balance. All of this is done without the use of artificial additives or synthetic ingredients to speed up the natural concentration process. Our mineral blends are all-natural and capture the perfect essence and balance of nature—the earth, the sun, the seasons, and the geography here in Utah.
The ponds operate seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Each week, caretakers transport their own potable water, which they will use for drinking, bathing, cooking, etc. Waste water as well as any personal refuse is collected weekly, returned, and disposed of at the appropriate facility. Any unused minerals are returned to the Great Salt Lake.
In addition, MRI has an in-house recycling program and we encourage employees to save and recycle as many materials as much as possible. We encourage consumers—wherever and whenever possible—to please recycle plastic bottles as well as paper, glass, and aluminum goods to preserve and protect the world’s resources for current and future generations, but also to protect the integrity and breath-taking beauty of the remaining untouched wonders of this world including the Great Salt Lake.
